As I write, it has only been summer vacation for 2 hours and 58 minutes. My son has been on the couch watching tv and Michaela has been...well...not wanting to get out of her "last day of school" dress that I let her wear today. She does love a good dress and this is her favorite.
How she came to own it is a long and complicated tale of one stupid and silly return policy and one frustrated mother searching for anything that had a $30.oo price tag to make an "even exchange", even though I bought the original piece I was returning for $12.00. Yeah, don't ask. And if you happen to walk into a Kohl's Department store to buy clothes for your son who is super difficult to buy for (hence, you resorted to entering Khols as I had done) and you see the signs all over the place that say, "Returns Made Easy!"--even hear it blasting over the store speakers--do not. believe. a word.
Anyway, I'm moving on. It's all in the past. She loves her dress and is unaware that her mother never intended to bring it home that one crazy day. I know it will be her "go-to" dress on warm summer days when we are doing something special, and her Sunday school teacher will probably notice that it is a Michaela Sunday Standard. But for all the toil it gave me to even bring it home I might as well let her enjoy it. Shoot! Wear it everyday girl!
