A fire pole...yes, in the entry way of my aunt's home in the hills. As a kid this was the coolest thing, of course. If you could do it from the very very top of the stairs then you were a big kid for sure. So we headed up to my aunt's for her 75th bday party and all my son could talk about was the memory of the fire pole he had from several years ago visiting her. Michaela had no memory of it so here she is, for the first time, attempting it from "the top".
Love the smile of delight you can see just peeking around her knee...
...that would certainly not meet fire code standards today. We adults all held our breath that one of them wouldn't topple down off the top ledge and had to remind ourselves that we, at one time, loved our aunt's house for the same "fire pole" reason. Who else has a fire pole in their entry way?!?!?!? If I were I kid (again) and I lived there, it would be the coolest!
All of the other cousins wait their turn...
Oh such fun to be at your great aunt's house...the house with the fire pole in it...
