roots and fruit

Grandpa shared his bounty of summer fruit.
Free fruit is the best.
(I need to learn how to make lemonade.)

Michaela and I picked weeds after the sprinklers loosened the soil.
It is so rewarding to pick weeds when they slide right out of the earth.
And I think roots are fascinating...
all that intricate growth going on beneath the soil that we can't see.

I have always believed that the "root bears the fruit".
What lies in our hearts will come to light
and bear fruit to taste or fruit to discard.
Seeing these two pictures today reminded me of this.
What kind of roots grow beneath your soil?
