The past several days have been that colorful blur...
Traveling out of town (four times in three days) to visit old friends and neighbors, attend birthday parties.
Dining with friends.
Driving a lot.
Finding a friend seriously ill (almost calling 911) and taking her child for two days so she could recover.
Fitting in trips to the grocery store.
Taking my son to karate class, boy scouts.
Spending an hour on the phone with our medical insurance company who decided to terminate our policy because they hadn't registered our payments, that we had paid, and that they had cashed. Finding a leak under the kitchen sink.
Babysitting.
Sopping up the flood under our kitchen sink (that had most likely been there for days).
Checking for lice. (Forgot to tell you that story, anyway, we're still doing comb-throughs just to make sure they're all gone.)
Folding laundry, and more laundry.
Running out of toilet paper.
Discovering that we think my son has a milk allergy, or at least something that is causing a nagging dry cough that is irritating his mother.
Shopping for milk substitutes.
Shopping for birthday presents.
Helping with homework.
Attending church.
Watching the Superbowl, sort of.
Visiting an antique store during most of the Superbowl.
Buying an antique garden bird feeder.
Working full days, and gearing up for a week of the same.
Trying to get to bed early.
Failing at getting to bed early.
Writing this blog post.
And just for fun...opening a letter from our HOA telling us that we had not taken down our Christmas tree lights and that we needed to do so. (Insert muffled swear words here.)
So, I am taking a deep breath and reminding myself that these present days are just the kind that will fly by with more speed than the others. At least we have the weekend right?
Oh wait, that's right...we've got three parties to attend this weekend. And we'll be taking down those Christmas lights...

I've had the same kind of thing going on for the past couple weeks. I am now in "One Day at a Time" mode. Nothing gets done today that isn't necessary for TODAY. Tomorrow must wait.
It will pass. Those lazy days of summer are right around the corner, right?
p.s. My Christmas lights are still up and if our HOA sends us a letter that might lead someplace bad. I guess I'd better get mine down too. :P
Ugh. I think you REALLY deserve some chocolate. Bake yourself one of those yummy chocolate desserts you pinned.
Lazy days of summer? Yes please. It was -11 when I woke up this morning. I don't feel like doing anything or going ANYWHERE.
And we still have our lights up too. In fast, Eli INSISTS on turning them on every night before he goes to bed and sometimes we forget to turn them back off. Our neighbors much think we're crazy.
Hope your week flies by!
I love that pic. Motion....
Your week sounds like mine. But I didn't find an antique garden bird feeder. Darn.
