arrival

Friends. Meet Spring. She finally arrived here in the form of blazing sun, 80 degree weather, and allergies. I just noticed last night my poor son sniffling and trying to breathe while waiting for his shower to warm up.

It's Friday and I am beat. This probably has something to do with the fact that after two weeks of not being able to go on my walks because of the rain, I have walked four miles every day this week, and then some. Seriously that is kind of pathetic that I am so beat by walking. There was a phase in my life where I used to run, until I dropped a seven pound frozen ice-cream maker bucket on my toes one summer. Up until then I could boast that I had never broken a bone in my body, and that I was a "runner",  but after that incident I was totally humbled and I never got back on my running feet.

Anyway, I digress.

So spring came, I have over-walked myself, and now I am whining. I am taking a few days off from blogging to recover (because, uh... doing all that walking really puts a cramp in one's blogging muscles) and get some stuff done that is hanging over my head. (Interpret: I'm overwhelmed with too much stuff right now that something has to give.)

Enjoy your weekend. Tell me about your plans, your Spring dreams, your allergy remedies for my son (preferably natural remedies).

Or just tell me that you can sympathize with my Friday slump. I don't want to feel like the loner that I already feel I am.

I can relate to everything you wrote. Yesterday I even contemplated shutting my blog down... because I tend to go to extremes when I'm feeling overwhelmed. ;)

I'm not going to shut down my blog. But I am not going to stress about the fact that I'm not blogging right now either.

And I hear you on the "used to be a runner." This moose related knee injury has left me unable to even do a slow jog. I'm so sad about it.

You aren't alone. :) I've been feeling overwhelmed and really, for no reason. I don't have a lot to do, really. guess I'm overwhelmed with thoughts lately. That can bog you down.
And pictures - I've deleted just about every photo I've taken this week. Blah. Boring. Horrible lighting. Blah.
Nice walking!! Exercise always makes me feel better even if I don't want to hop on the treadmill.
Happy spring. Hope the allergy season passes soon.
Enjoy the warm weather. And send some sun up to Portland.
We will all be here when you come back. :)

I can sympathize with your Friday slump. My work weekend (36 hours in 3 days). Enough said.

Spring dreams? Um....just the arrival of spring here would be nice.

And my friend swears by her Neti Pot and probiotics to help with allergies. Hope he feels better soon.

Hugs.

I wish I had a valid excuse like you to not be a runner. I simply have no endurance.

As for the allergies ... I have friends that swear by the consumption of local honey. If you eat a tablespoon of local honey, then you are suppose to become immune to that pollen. My daughter tried it last spring, but only for like a week, because my husband told her it was a crock. :/ Anyway, I think it may have helped a little. But again, she only did it for a week.

Gorgeous photo! It's far from 80 degrees but I did manage to find some cherry blossoms to photograph right outside of my apartment this afternoon. Scientists at my work swear by the local honey approach. My brother-in-law has awful allergies, and he heard of this remedy elsewhere, and has been trying it out.
