short and sweet (with a little somethin' extra on the side)

A few brief photo moments with my friend and her children yesterday left me wanting more. We were at the new riding stables for the first time and I about died with the possibilities...beautiful barn doors and ivy covered walls, rusted rod iron window casings.  The sun was blazing when we were there and I told Bean's riding instructor that I would be back sometime when the sun was going down. (It gets me giddy thinking about it!)
But we needed to be brief because these photos were for her hubby's bday. Sshhhhhhhh....don't say anything. (I think I'm pretty safe he won't be checking my blog, and his bday is tomorrow.)

This one was inspired by a picture she brought me. Think: beautiful cover of a JCrew catalogue with two women sitting in a softly lit field of grass. We utilized the picnic bench under a shady oak to keep us out of the bright sun. Bean's riding instructor (who is adept at braiding many a horse tail) weaved the girls' hair together and well, there you have it. (I'd love to try it in that softly lit field...)

And what's that saying? You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose? Something like that? This shot was caught shooting from the hip. I was teasing Miss S that I had caught her picking her nose and then she laughed, and then her mom reached in to finish the job. I think this is why I am friends with these people. They're a bit goofy. We kinda dwell on the same side of town where fishing boogers out of your kid's nose is no big deal. JUST KIDDING.

I will leave you with this image on your Friday. It's lighthearted and funny to lift your spirits, no?
Maybe s'not. You can thank me later. Or not.

Happy weekend!
xoxo
