(I wish you could see this really up close...he has a dusting of summer freckles across his nose and cheeks. I noticed them a few days ago and smiled. By the end of summer, this kid will be BROWN.)
He leaves for sleep away camp Sunday and will be gone all week. This is his second time going, the first being quite emotional for me as it was the first time I let him go off on his own. He is excited and ready and not so nervous as he is a summer camp veteran, but I am still teary-eyed about it. If you are a parent you know how hard it is when your children are growing up and spending more time away from you. You know it is moment mixed with excitement for what they will experience and anxiety over knowing that whatever they face while away from you, they will have to do it on their own.
This is the moment when you say a prayer and release them to the world and pray that all that you have given to them will be enough to enable them to navigate the waters without you.
I believe he is ready.
He knows how much we love him.
He knows that we are his biggest fans.
He knows that we will think of him every moment and wonder what he is doing.
And he knows that we will be anxiously awaiting his return.
Have the BEST time at camp Z.
We love you.

He is such a handsome boy! I am several years away from sending my kids to camp and it terrifies me! Hugs!
Sorry, but I want proof at the end of the summer of his BROWN-ness. ;) Oh, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to let my girls go away to camp. Sleep-overs are hard enough.
He has beautiful eyes! So gorgeous. I hope he has the best time {I am positively certain he will}
Lovely blog. Please stop by mine at www.thoseblissmoments.blogspot.com if you get the chance.
Have a great evening.
