It seems as if this summer just cartwheeled right on in and has swept us along already from one activity to the next. A few days ago I had to put on the breaks before I found myself scrambling for some organization. (Geez, I haven't even bought our summer sun screen yet!) I printed out a summer calendar for my son, who was thrilled. Yes, I said thrilled to have a summer calendar. I sat him down and I gave him the dates of our vacations and some other planned events. And then I had him pencil in some things that he'd like to do: make ice cream, go fishing with Papa (You reading this Dad? He's already got you down for two fishing dates!), visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium with his free pass, make a few dinners for the family (that one was my idea), make more ice cream, hit the beach, attend a few of the free summer movies at our local theater, do some sleep overs with his friends.
He penciled it all in and he is l-o-v-i-n-g it. He consults it daily. I really must take a picture of it to show you all. But for now, just know that summer has cartwheeled its way into our home and my son has taken it by the horns and we are ready to rock! (Hear the enthusiasm, really.)
Now I just need to go buy some sunscreen.

I love this shot. It says so much in the cartwheel, the waves, the cloud formations. Perfection. And you and me both....I haven't "prepared" for summer yet here it is almost July.
