So this is what happens when I invite you over to my house for pizza on a Sunday evening and I have not seen you in a while because I have spent the last month working 40 hours a week and you have been cooped up inside your house with your brand new baby and a four year old...
Yes, when I invite you over for pizza on a Sunday evening and I have not seen you in a long while and you have just had a baby, I drag you outside in the beautiful light for ten minutes and take oodles of pictures. You may scold me for including me in so many of the pictures because you did not realize it was going to be a "mommy and me" shoot but I don't care. I wish I looked half as beautiful as you "as is" right after having my second child. Sheesh, look at you girl. You are one beautiful mama. (Even if you are sleep deprived and going bonkers with your four year old.)
Taking these photos filled my soul.
I think I need to invite people over for pizza more often.

Just gorgeous!! Love the soft light and the little toes are precious!
Definitely the most adorable newborn I've seen all year!! And she is gorgeous!!! It's been a year and I'm still trying to lose the baby fat!! Jealous.
I LOVE that first image. Amazing. Beautiful light and a beautiful mama. She will be grateful for these pics one day soon - a simple glimpse into a time that passes so quickly.
Tracey, these pictures are really fantastic. You really captured the love they have for eachother.
They filled my soul too.
Wow. Yeah. Lovely woman. Cute kid too. I'm guessing the father is extraordinarily attractive as well.
Loving that gorgeous light!! So cute!
Love these!
I just read about how to take pictures of babies last night in a book on photography from the National Geographic Society. One suggestion was to get in tight and single in on one object. The sample picture was of a baby's feet, looking much like your pic. They stole your idea, Tracey!
I like your turn of phrase, "filled my soul."
These are all so gorgeous! I keep coming back and looking at. Lovely, lovely light.
When can I come for pizza? ;)
Spontaneous is your thing friend. The way you recognize and freeze a moment in time that would otherwise be forgotten is really a beautiful gift. Glad I got to be a part of this frozen moment :).
p.s.-pizza & chatting was great too!
Those photos evoke an emotional response from me. They make me feel all warm and wonderful inside and make me want to go hug my babies.
They are so lovely, Tracey.
oh wow, these photos are just amazing. the light, the baby, the beautiful mama (wish i looked that good when my babes were that little). amazing captures - totally worth the time you took.
The images... the light... the beauty...
I'm Not Worthy! I'm Not Worthy!
(can I come over for pizza on a sunday?)
Love them. The pics actually make me want another one....
amazing captures - can I come over for pizza??? :)
Yay, it's about time those two are featured...so beautiful! Jennie and baby Logan are breathtaking and you captured it in the most dreamy way. Love!
SWOON. Tracey, these are beautiful in EVERY SINGLE WAY. gorgeous mama, extraordinarily attractive father who clearly loves wife & son ;-) and will chime in about it, golden light, totally yummy baby, and a nice little double-self-portrait in the last pic.
perfection, really.
Is it appropriate to ask how you got this shot? What were the camera settings you used? I am growing in my photography quite a lot lately, and have loved learning from your blog. I would like to take soft backlit photos like the ones you have here... would you share with me about how you did it?
Thanks a lot!
