Sweet Abby

It is with great expectation, sadness, hope and faith that I am dedicating this post today to dear sweet Abby. She was born 8 weeks ago to a friend and old neighbor, Sarah, and her hubby Quan. Over a week ago she was admitted to Stanford hospital. After many tests, specialists, pokes and prods, her doctors delivered the sad news that the veins leading out from both sides of her heart to her lungs were not properly formed. Please forgive me for not disclosing the proper terminology--her mother explained it to me, showed me a drawing, but it's one of those long drawn out medical terms for a condition that basically means, her heart cannot give the lungs what it needs, the lungs can't receive it, and so therefore, the two are struggling to help Abby thrive.
A few days ago the team of doctors delivered the news that that there was nothing they could do for Abby, that it was fatal, and the best thing to do was to bring her home and wait it out...for days, or a week, or a month...
I visited her today and snapped some pictures of her: her sweet toes, hands, even a quick smile. I asked her mother if I could post them to my blog so that others could see her and most especially PRAY for her.

So...I am asking that you would pray. Please pray. While the doctors have given up, I do believe in a God that is able to perform miracles. And while I write that last sentence with a tiny, doubting, and limited amount of faith, I do know that any amount of faith I have is faith. (God, please honor that faith.)

I will keep you posted of Abby's condition. Until then, join me in praying for a miracle. And please forward the link to this post to others so that they might join me as well.

God bless Abby...God bless you.

...will definitely be praying for that sweet little girl who was fashioned by the hand of our Creator...
Mark 9:24
Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"
