Once there was a tool box. Or two.
That attracted two young boys to their shiny innards.
Potent curiosity captivated them to the limitless possibilities
of each gadget, hammer, drill bit, wrench.
Blissfully unaware of the outside world, their tool-time flew!
Until one of them was distracted.
Sounds floating from within the house alerted his boy radar to something more powerful, more thrilling. It was enough to pull him away from the now insignificant tool boxes, and cause him to stand, motionless, gape, drool, his hammer hanging lifelessly to his side.
And then the other boy. Like a moth drawn helplessly to the light, he too followed his boy radar to the curious sounds. Now two of them stood. If not for the latched backyard gate, I'm sure that we would have witnessed others drifting in by two's and three's to stand
mesmerized behind the screen, peering intensely inward.
And what was it that so captivated their attention you ask?
The Big Boys. Drinking a fine red wine while playing the XBox 360...
The Star Wars LEGOS Saga.
Two young boys, helplessly drawn to the sounds and lights of a Lego Luke Skywalker, fighting Lego Storm Troopers and a Lego Darth Vadar. Yes, two young boys watching two Big Boys (like fathers, like sons). The four of them finely tuned to that male frequency of which we mothers and wives can never, no never (sigh), completely understand.
Simply cannot ever try to understand. (I'm telling you, don't even try.)
