Math homework complete, she snuggled down deep into the coziness of the bed and settled there.
This is sweet comfort: to feel the embrace of warmth and consolation that all is now well...
...at least for the next twenty four hours until you have to do your math homework again.

Please tell me that there are other mothers out there that suffer an hour of torture each day helping little girls do their math homework? (For another glimpse of what it's like for me each day, please refer back to this post. It's been almost a year since that post and I am surprised I still have hair on my head.)
Any empathy pains out there? Seeking a little comfort of my own.

Google has changed my life in terms of helping with math homework.
I generally will find a website where I can plug in the problem and it will give me the answer and then work me through the problem backwards!
Seriously, if Google had been around when I was young I'd probably become a MATH major. ;)
Okay, so Evie is only in kindergarten and not bringing home math homework yet. BUT, the reading. Oh the reading and the writing.... I hate to admit this because she is still so young and I hate to sound like this awful mom who doesn't like to read with her daughter, but sometimes it's SO hard to find the patience. She'll lose focus and just guess at the words....like when the word is "hen" and she'll see the picture and say "chicken". It takes all within me to not yell, "sound it out!!!!". And this is why I don't homeschool. I would turn into crazy mom. Although most days I think I've already turned into her.
Stac--oh I've been there with the reading too! And yes, it's why I can't home school either.
Michelle--Maybe if my 7th grade math teacher didn't throw erasers at me for not being able to solve a math problem I might have "liked" math.
how absolutely precious are these photos... especially the second! what a smile. what a beautiful capture. gosh, between you and stacey, i only hope to have half the talent you each have put together!
and can i just say? i can't wait to help my kiddo out with art, writing, english, vocabulary, science... just about anything... EXCEPT math!!
it is so not my forte! i'm getting a tutor for that one... i want my kid to be smarter than me!
no empathy pains from experience here... just empathy pains from what i anticipate. =)
